Academic Coaching
Help your student get organized, stay motivated, and build the skills they need for long-term success.
What is Academic Coaching?
Academic coaching is about helping students feel proud of what they’ve accomplished. We teach the skills behind success: organization, time management, planning, and focus. And most importantly, we guide students toward self-reliance: learning how to break down challenges, follow through, and recognize the satisfaction of saying, “I did this on my own.”
Who is Academic Coaching for?
Students who struggle with executive functioning (organization, planning, time management)
Learners with ADHD or other learning differences
Students who feel overwhelmed by schoolwork and need structure
Anyone who wants to build independence and confidence in their learning
What We’ll Work On
-
We help students strengthen the brain’s “management system”. Skills like planning, organization, and working memory. These executive functions are essential for handling schoolwork, reducing procrastination, and balancing responsibilities.
-
Through neuroscience-based techniques like “attention sprints” and environmental cues, we show students how to reduce distractions and train their focus. We practice short bursts of concentration, reflect on what worked, and gradually expand their ability to stay on task.
-
Instead of giving answers, we guide students with questions and strategies until they discover the solution. Over time, this shift builds genuine self-reliance. We also celebrate wins — helping students recognize the pride of saying, “I figured this out on my own.”
-
We connect cognitive science to daily routines, like how sleep consolidates memory, or how short breaks boost retention. Students build personalized study systems that align with how the brain actually learns, making schoolwork less stressful and more sustainable.
